Gabriel Dor

R. Gabriel Dor came to the practice of real estate from a background in corporate law and higher education. Gabriel holds a JD from UCBerkeley Law School, a PhD from Northwestern, and a masters degree from Goldsmiths, University of London. Before earning his realtor license and joining Berkshire Hathaway Home Services in 2017, Gabriel taught media studies at local universities. Prior to that he practiced in the tax law group of a Wall Street law firm.

Gabriel has lived in Chicago since 2003, with a great appreciation for the architectural history of the built environment and the housing possibilities of local markets. Key to his appreciation is the diversity of neighborhoods, styles, and cultural offerings, and his interest easily led to a career as a real estate broker.

Gabriel brings to his real estate practice the knowledge, understanding, and skills gained in his prior professional experiences. His academic, legal, and financial research and analysis skills help provide clients with the information needed to make their best choices. His dedicated advocacy and ethical integrity ensure the client’s interests come first, while his communication skills build bridges for successful negotiations.

Most importantly, Gabriel draws from his knowledge and experience in pedagogy to help clients understand their best options for their needs and budget across local markets, and support them in facing the challenges towards a successful closing.

Gabriel joined Real Estate Artists in 2018 with an appreciation for the commitment to quality, transparency, and integrity of service to clients. He has helped many buyers find their best home, and many sellers their best buyers. He has also helped landlords and tenants to find rental solutions, and investors to find suitable additions to their portfolios. Gabriel listens carefully, learns readily, and is motivated by client satisfaction with a process and an outcome tailored to their unique needs and circumstances.

Gabriel speaks French, German and Hebrew fluently, and is conversant to some degree in Spanish, Italian, and Russian as well. He lives in Rogers Park with two cats, and enjoys the annual art festival, farmers markets, and the lakefront.
